A liquid that is extracted or squeezed from the natural sources like fruits and vegetables is called a juice. Or, we also define the flavoured liquids that are consumed as a beverage as a juice.
Juices contain various health benefits, they depend upon the type of fruit or vegetable that is used for preparing it. For example, orange juice serves a high content of vitamin C, potassium and folic acid, whereas, on the other hand prune juice is beneficial for digestion. Though the juice consumption is common since ages, the fruit juice consumption has increased in the recent years because they give various healthy natural sources of nutrients to the body and are beneficial in reducing the risk of several health problems like cancer, bladder functions, stroke and Alzheimer’s.
It is easy to prepare a juice at home from fresh fruits and vegetables and for help, a variety of electric or hand juicers are available, which are used for easily preparing the drink. Once squeezed, the remaining fiber or pulp is filtered and the liquid is drunk as a juice. Various big establishments like juice bars are opened at several places to serve people with freshly squeezed fruit juices, fruit smoothies and juice blends.
