Chocolate is a type of a sweet food that is prepared from Theobroma cacao seeds in the form of a liquid or a paste and is later given any shape (when required). It is usually brown in color and a few are white. The archaeological evidences show that cacao has been cultivated for three millennia and the first chocolate beverage dates back to 1900 BC approx. Chocolate is also used as a flavoring ingredient in many food types such as chocolate chip cookies, chocolate milk, hot chocolate, etc. There are many types of chocolates, such as, sweet chocolates, pure and unsweetened chocolates, milk chocolates, dark chocolates, and raw chocolates.
The chocolates are sensitive to temperature and humidity and that is why, they are ideal to store at 15°C or 17°C. This food product is generally available in wrappers or packings with appropriate storage. Dark chocolates are beneficial for the circulatory system and lower cholesterol levels, whereas many chocolates are also helpful in reducing the risks of cardiovascular problems and blood pressure issues (as per several studies). Some popular manufacturers of chocolate products are Cadbury, Mars, Guylian, The Hershey Company, Lindt and Sprungli, Milka, Suchard, and Neuhaus. Apart from daily consumption, chocolates generally make a favorable food product for celebrations and festivals like Easter, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and more.
